About The Artist

Håkan Hagegård made his début at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm in 1968 as Papageno in Mozart’s Magic Flute, a role he also played in Ingmar Bergman’s TV version from 1975. His international career started in 1973 when he sang the role of the Count in Richard Strauss’s Capriccio at Glyndebourne, and since then he has appeared in all the major opera houses.
