Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750):
Chorales, BWV 645–650 (“Schübler” Chorales)
Fantasia in C Minor, BWV 562
Fantasia in G Major, BWV 572

Bach’s “Schübler” Chorales were recorded July 3 and 4, 1959 and the two Fantasias July 10 and 11, 1959, at the gallery organ of the church of Saint-Sulpice, Paris, on 3-track half-inch tape, using three Schoeps M201 omnidirectional condenser microphones. They were originally released as SR90230.

Marcel Dupré was a prolific performer who played over two thousand recitals around the world in his lifetime, including a series in which he played Bach’s complete organ works - from memory. Re-mastered by Mercury Living Presence specialists from the original tapes, The Complete Mercury Living Presence Recordings of Marcel Dupré is now available digitally. It includes five albums appearing digitally for the first time as well as two albums originally released on Philips.
